Os vencedores dos Prémios Locus foram ontem anunciados no encontro Locus Awards Weekend, que decorreu em Seattle. Estes prémios anuais são atribuídos desde 1971 pela revista "Locus", e os vencedores são seleccionados com base nas votações dos leitores da revista em várias categorias literárias, artísticas e editoriais na fantasia e na ficção científica. alguns resmungis: bem, o redshirts é bom mas não é assim tão bom... os leitores da locus renderam-se à ironia metaficcional que está na moda?; o railsea é merecidíssimo; o nome de saladin ahmed anda a ser muito falado, ícone de multiculturalismo ou valerá mesmo a pena?; claramente aliette de bodard é uma das novas vozes emergentes; e os resmungos do gibson (bons, por sinal) sempre dão um ar intelectual a uma lista de não ficção dominada por biografias, livros autofágicos e um calhamaço do stephenson (não li, não vi mas é do stephenson por isso aposto entre 500 a 1500 páginas, assim fazendo a estimativa por baixo...)
O Redshirts também me deixa de pé atrás. Mas a verdade é que desta longa lista não li um único texto; e no que diz respeito aos artistas, o único nome familiar é o de Donato Giancola, um dos melhores ilustradores que já passaram pelo departamento artístico de Magic: the Gathering.
Tenho alguma curiosidade quanto aos textos da Aliette de Bodard, de facto, e muita curiosidade quanto à novela da Nancy Kress (que, já agora, tem um título notável e uma capa lindíssima).
